Hi! Thanks for the debug notes. This is a puzzling one though, I don't see anything obviously wrong in there.

Does it happen regardless of the size/shape of the rove area?
Does the machine actually draw the first four waves? It looks like they're on the same line.
Does "trace outline" work ok (the other button in the norwegian pixel popup window)? It should just draw a rectangle that is the shape of where the drawing would go.

What a puzzle!

Oh - the P4/P5 thing: I had to look this up again - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netpbm_format has the answer.

P4 is a black and white image, 2 colours. Portable BitMap (PBM).
P5 is a greyscale image, 255 colours. Portable GreyMap (PGM).

In theory, the file extension _should_ be PGM, rather than PBM, and I don't think that the Polargraph firmware actually pays attention to the extension anyway, it could be called anything.

hello Sandy

thank for your reply, i draw some other good files but it always the same result, the out trace line is well done exept that the pen is not down, i try with different rove area, the polargraph goes to the top right, the pen goes down and its finish
as you say it s a puzzle...
happy new year to you and your polargraph
